The executive will lead the division’s commercial strategy, with a focus on strengthening customer relationships and driving business growth
Georgia-Pacific has announced the appointment of Nick Trainer as vice president of market sales for GP PRO, the company’s professional hygiene solutions division.
In his new role, Trainer will be responsible for leading the unit’s sales strategy and execution, strengthening customer partnerships, and supporting business growth across the North American market.
The company highlighted Trainer’s industry experience and previous leadership within the organization. Nate Medina, senior vice president and general sales manager of GP PRO, said his return will help continue delivering value to customers.
Before rejoining Georgia-Pacific, Trainer served as senior vice president of sales and marketing at Handgards, a manufacturer of disposable foodservice products focused on food safety and cross-contamination prevention.
During his previous 18-year tenure at Georgia-Pacific, he held several leadership roles, including southern regional sales manager and vice president and general manager of the GP PRO tissue and wiper business.
During that period, he led initiatives to expand the Compact tissue business, supported new product launches, and advanced manufacturing investments aimed at strengthening innovation and operational performance.
Earlier in his career, Trainer also held sales leadership positions at Unisource and Kimberly-Clark.
Based in Atlanta, Georgia-Pacific is one of the world’s leading manufacturers and marketers of tissue, paper towels, napkins, packaging, cellulose, and building products. The company operates more than 150 facilities and employs approximately 30,000 people directly.
