Metsä Tissue achieves its highest EcoVadis score and retains Platinum rating for the seventh consecutive year
The company scored 91 out of 100 in the sustainability assessment, placing it among the top 1% of companies evaluated worldwide
Metsä Tissue has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum sustainability rating for the seventh consecutive year, while also achieving its highest score since participating in the assessment. The company received 91 out of 100 points, an increase of eight points compared with the previous year.
With this result, Metsä Tissue ranks among the top 1% of more than 150,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis globally. The improvement was recorded across all four evaluation categories: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
The Environment and Labor & Human Rights categories each reached 93 out of 100 points, while Ethics, previously the company’s lowest-scoring category, showed one of the most significant improvements.
According to Metsä Tissue, the achievement is particularly notable given EcoVadis’ increasingly stringent assessment criteria, which have raised the benchmark for participating companies over time.
Sari Pajari-Sederholm, CEO of Metsä Tissue, stated that independent sustainability assessments are becoming increasingly important in demonstrating performance and meeting growing customer demands for transparency and verified data.
Metsä Tissue manufactures tissue and greaseproof paper products from fresh northern fiber and operates production facilities across Europe. The company serves both professional and consumer markets through brands including Katrin, Lambi, Serla, Mola, Tento and SAGA.
EcoVadis is one of the world’s leading sustainability rating platforms, evaluating companies on environmental performance, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement practices. In addition to reporting its own sustainability performance, Metsä Tissue uses the platform to assess its suppliers.
