European Commission approves Kimberly-Clark’s acquisition of Kenvue

The deal’s approval is conditional on the sale of Kimberly-Clark’s feminine care brands in the European Economic Area to address competition concerns

The European Commission approved Kimberly-Clark’s acquisition of Kenvue, the manufacturer of Tylenol, on Tuesday (October 13), after the maker of Kleenex tissues and Huggies diapers offered concessions to address competition concerns raised by the European Union.

Under the commitments submitted to the Commission, the company agreed to divest all its tampon brands and other feminine care products in the European Economic Area, according to a statement from the EU’s executive body responsible for competition enforcement.

“The brands covered by the divestment are Kotex (including the sub-brand Lidie), Camelia and Record,” the Commission said.
