AF&PA releases its 2020 Sustainability Report

The American Forest & Paper Association (AF&PA) present our industry’s achievements for the Better Practices, Better Planet 2020 sustainability initiative.

Nearly a decade ago, AF&PA members introduced a set of sustainability goals that continue to demonstrate a commitment to improving the environment. Today, they are proud to say that they have achieved most of their goals, even with the unexpected challenge that was the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The Better Practices, Better Planet 2020 sustainability initiative is one of the most extensive sets of sustainability goals established for a U.S. manufacturing industry. Their members have surpassed three goals: worker safety, greenhouse gas emissions and energy efficiency and they achieved their goal for sustainable forestry.
