Always highlights postpartum protection as part of women’s changing needs

Always, Procter & Gamble’s feminine care brand, highlights the role of protection and comfort products during postpartum recovery, a period that can extend beyond the first six weeks after childbirth

While many women spend months preparing for pregnancy and childbirth, the postpartum period often receives less attention. Following the baby’s arrival, new mothers face the simultaneous challenges of physical recovery, caring for a newborn and adapting to changes in their daily routines.

Against this backdrop, Always, the feminine care brand owned by Procter & Gamble (P&G), is highlighting products designed to provide protection and comfort during postpartum recovery.

According to the brand, physical and emotional changes can continue beyond the first six weeks after childbirth, meaning that postpartum recovery may extend well beyond the initial period traditionally associated with the stage. During this transition, protection can contribute to greater comfort and confidence as women adjust to their new routines.

The PARENTS magazine included Always Ultra Thin Extra Heavy Overnight Pads in its 2026 Hall of Fame for New Moms, a selection of products aimed at new mothers. According to Always, the recognition highlights the pad’s protection and performance.

The company says the product provides up to 100% leak protection and up to 12 hours of coverage, while absorbing twice as fast as the leading private-label pad in the United States. The product is also designed for everyday use and is made with hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and elemental chlorine-free materials. It has also received dermatological approval from the Skin Health Alliance.

“Women’s needs can change significantly throughout their lives. After the birth of my second child, I personally experienced how those needs can change,” said Valerie Bobart, senior scientist at Always.

According to Bobart, she experienced heavier menstrual flows after childbirth than she had previously, reinforcing the importance of developing products capable of addressing different needs throughout women’s lives.

“That experience deepened my empathy for the women we serve and reinforced the importance of creating products they can trust,” she added.

Always also says that postpartum protection is part of its broader approach to addressing women’s changing needs throughout their lives. The company states that menstrual protection products can also meet some of the needs women may experience during recovery after childbirth.

“At Always, we have spent decades supporting women through important moments in their lives, and postpartum is no different. Confidence, protection and security are essential for new mothers, and we are committed to providing products that support them through every stage of life,” said KaNeeTa Kimble, Always’ vice president for North America.

In the United States, Always says it is the menstrual pad brand most recommended by obstetricians and gynecologists, based on a survey conducted among healthcare professionals. The company’s products are available through major retailers and e-commerce channels across the country.
