Essity appoints Niklas Westin Sundberg as Chief Digital and Information Officer

The executive will assume the role on April 15, 2026, joining the Executive Management Team to lead the company’s digital transformation

Essity announced the appointment of Niklas Westin Sundberg as its new Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO), succeeding Carl-Magnus Månsson, who will leave the company to take on an external position.

Westin Sundberg will be responsible for the company’s ongoing digital transformation as well as the Digital Transformation and Business Enablement function, and will become a member of the Executive Management Team.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in digital development within complex international organizations. Throughout his career, he has led business-driven IT strategies, cybersecurity initiatives, and artificial intelligence projects at global companies such as Kuehne+Nagel and ASSA ABLOY.

According to the company, his appointment is intended to strengthen Essity’s digitalization efforts, supporting profitable growth, enhanced customer and consumer experience, and improved operational efficiency. Westin Sundberg will report directly to Ulrika Kolsrud, President and CEO of Essity.
