Essity introduces Lotus Just1 SansTube in Europe
Coreless toilet paper offers larger, softer and more absorbent sheets, with recyclable paper packaging and reduced waste
Essity has expanded its portfolio in Europe with the launch of Lotus Just1 SansTube, a coreless toilet paper designed to combine performance, convenience and sustainability. Produced in France, the innovation eliminates the traditional cardboard tube, replacing it with an ultra-soft core developed exclusively for this line.
According to the company, each sheet of Lotus Just1 is larger, thicker and more absorbent than a standard toilet paper sheet, which means that a single sheet can be sufficient in most situations. The new format extends roll duration, allowing consumers to use twice as much paper per roll and reduce replacement frequency by half.

The tubeless technology reduces the waste associated with traditional toilet paper consumption, while the adoption of paper-based packaging enhances the product’s environmental performance. The packaging is largely recyclable and made primarily from renewable materials, aligning with Essity’s global strategy to lower CO₂ emissions and develop sustainable hygiene solutions.
By merging product performance with eco-friendly design, Lotus Just1 SansTube highlights how innovation can meet consumer expectations while supporting Essity’s business growth and long-term sustainability objectives.
