First Quality to expand Anderson County operations
The operation will create new jobs and elevate the company's projected impact on the community
First Quality Tissue, a privately held manufacturer of ultra-premium towel and tissue products, has announced that it will expand its operations in Anderson County, South Carolina, creating new jobs and elevating the company’s projected impact on the community.
The company started operations in Anderson in 2010 and now has more than 800 employees working in a factory covering more than 2.9 million square meters.
The expansion allows the installation of First Quality’s next TAD paper machine, according to a press release, which adds an estimated capacity of 70,000 tons to the plant. The TAD machine is expected to start operating in the third quarter of 2022.
“First Quality remains committed to the ultra-premium category and we are focused, particularly during these challenging times, on providing our customers and consumers with the quality bath tissue and towel products they need and desire. Adding additional state of the art manufacturing capacity will enable First Quality to meet the growing demands of our customers in a timely and efficient manner. We want to express our sincerest appreciation to the entire Anderson County community, and especially the economic development team, for their continued support and partnership which has made this expansion possible.” said First Quality’s Kelly L. Wolff.
