Roses Southwest Paper invests in direct-to-consumer market with new converting line

In a new Talk Tissue episode, Robert and Robbie Espat discuss the company’s history, family legacy and investment in equipment expected to be operational by April 2027

In a new edition of Talk Tissue, Brian Uzcategui speaks with Robert Espat and his son, Robbie Espat Jr., from Roses Southwest Paper, about the company’s history, family legacy and plans for its next stage of growth.

The conversation looks back at the company’s beginnings in tissue converting, its expansion into towels and napkins, and its long-standing presence in the away-from-home market. Robert also shares insights into the relationships that have helped shape the business over the years.

Robbie discusses the role of the next generation and the opportunities ahead for the family-owned company, including its recent move into the direct-to-consumer market through a major investment in a three-line Andromeda system from Futura.

The new equipment will expand Roses Southwest Paper’s converting and packaging capabilities, with production targeted to begin in April 2027. The Espats also discuss what they are looking for as they enter this new market: strong partnerships across the tissue industry.
