His succession will be determined at the beginning of the new year
After 13 years as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the WEPA Group, Friedrich Merz will leave the Board of the hygiene paper manufacturer on 31 December 2021, at his own request. His succession will be determined at the beginning of the new year.
“Over the course of the past 13 years, Friedrich Merz has overseen and accompanied many significant developments of our family business as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. On behalf of the Management Board, the entrepreneurial family and the other members of the Supervisory Board, I would like to thank him for his many years of commitment and the always very good cooperation and wish him every success for the tasks and projects that lie ahead,” said Martin Krengel, Chairman of the Management Board of the WEPA Group.
“I very much enjoyed accompanying the WEPA Group as Chairman of the Supervisory Board. With my election to the Bundestag as a Member of Parliament, I am now resigning my seat – as announced – and wish the family business from my hometown continued successful development,” said Friedrich Merz.
Friedrich Merz had joined the Supervisory Board of the WEPA Group at the end of 2008 and has led the Supervisory Board as its Chairman since then.
