Georgia-Pacific donates $5,000 to support child advocacy services in Alabama

The contribution strengthens programs for children and families and supports the organization’s main annual fundraiser

Georgia-Pacific has donated $5,000 to the Regional Child Advocacy Center to support services for children and families in the Grove Hill, Alabama region.

According to the center’s leadership, the contribution helped fund its annual dinner and auction, held on March 7 at the Jackson Community House. The event, which serves as the organization’s primary fundraiser, gathered around 30 sponsors and raised more than $80,000 in gross revenue.

The center serves Clarke, Washington, and Choctaw counties, providing a coordinated response to child abuse cases. Since opening in 2004, it has offered forensic interviews for children aged 3 to 18 in a child-friendly environment, enabling law enforcement, child protective services, and legal authorities to collaborate effectively during investigations.

In addition, the organization provides free counseling, court accompaniment, and ongoing support services for families. It also coordinates regular case review meetings with partner agencies to ensure continuity in assistance and case progression.

Georgia-Pacific stated that the donation reflects its commitment to supporting the communities where it operates, particularly initiatives focused on child protection and family well-being.
