Huggies and Baby2Baby team up to support mothers and babies in need
Collaboration aims to triple aid and reduce maternal mortality in the U.S.
Huggies®, through the Kimberly-Clark Foundation, has announced a collaboration with the nonprofit Baby2Baby to provide crucial support to mothers and babies in need. With the goal of tripling the reach and impact of the Baby2Baby program, a multi-million dollar donation will be made that includes funds and essential products such as diapers, wipes and postpartum sanitary napkins.
This partnership seeks to address the growing need for diapers in the United States and combat the tragic rise in the maternal mortality rate, especially in vulnerable communities. The program will be launched to coincide with Mother’s Day 2024.
Baby2Baby and Huggies funded a pilot program that distributed 3,000 maternal health kits and newborn supplies in Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. With support from the Kimberly-Clark Foundation and Huggies, an additional 10,000 kits will be distributed in ten states this year, including the three pilot states and seven new states.
These kits contain essential items for maternal and infant health and comfort, such as diapers, wipes, hygiene products, breastfeeding supplies, postpartum care and educational resources. This assistance also provides mental health support by relieving the stress of meeting the baby’s most basic needs.
The partnership between Baby2Baby and Huggies seeks to reduce maternal mortality rates, which have increased over the past 20 years in the United States. Both organizations are committed to supporting maternal and child health in communities in need.
While Baby2Baby has distributed 170 million diapers over the past 12 years, demand remains high, with requests for more than 1.5 billion diapers this year. Huggies’ donation will allow Baby2Baby to expand its reach, ensuring that more mothers and babies receive the support they need immediately after giving birth.
