The company strives to be a positive presence in its operating communities and the employees are an instrumental in that effort, admirably representing it in countless ways and inspiring daily.
Recently, Resolute Tissue’s Calhoun, Tennessee operations achieved 500,000 safe work hours, which spurred the team to further support and value the local community. To that end, the Calhoun team donated $10,000 from the Board of Directors’ Safety Award to the Relay for Life of Bradley County to benefit the American Cancer Society.
According to the company, the check was presented to Relay for Life at a luncheon held at the Calhoun plant in early April.
The Relay for Life Carnival and Family Festival was also held in April in downtown Cleveland. Resolute actively participated with a booth and its employee volunteers sold bath tissues and paper towels donated by the Calhoun mill.
As a result, the company gave the single largest donation of $10,000 and then donated almost $3,000 in product sales. The event raised over $160,000 and far exceeded the goal of $115,000.
