Essity announces Donato Giorgio’s departure from the executive team

Essity has announced the departure of Donato Giorgio, President of Global Supply Chain and member of the Executive Management Team, who will leave the company on October 31, 2025. Giorgio joined Essity in 2009, while still at SCA, and over the course of 16 years has held various leadership positions in manufacturing and global supply chain.

In 2015, he joined Essity’s executive team, leading initiatives in sustainable manufacturing and circular resource solutions, contributing to the strengthening of the company’s global supply chain.

In a statement, Giorgio highlighted the importance of his career at Essity and the lessons learned from the team: “I’m incredibly proud of the journey we took together, building a world-class, integrated global supply chain, in a newly created Essity. I am profoundly grateful to all my colleagues for the immense personal and professional learning and for the privilege of working with you”.

The executive also revealed his next professional step, taking on the position of Director of Supply and Senior Vice President at O-I, a glass, ceramics, and concrete manufacturing company. According to him, the decision was motivated by the challenge of competitively leading the industry, promoting sustainability, customer experience, and operational excellence.

The recruitment process for Giorgio’s successor has already begun.
