Sofidel celebrates anniversary with family day at Lewiston plant
The company opened its facilities to employees and their families as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations and community engagement efforts
Sofidel hosted a family day at its Lewiston plant in the United States as part of the company’s 60th anniversary celebrations. The event brought together employees, children and relatives to strengthen connections between the company and the local community.
During the event, visitors toured the facility and learned about the production process of tissue products such as toilet paper, paper towels, napkins and facial tissues. The 900,000-square-foot plant uses automation and robotics to produce approximately 165,000 metric tons of private-label tissue annually.
Chad Bann, site operations manager at Sofidel Lewiston, said the initiative gave families the opportunity to better understand the company’s manufacturing operations and workplace environment.
The celebration also included entertainment activities for children, branded giveaways and community support initiatives. Among the announcements were the donation of more than 71,000 rolls of toilet paper to the Idaho Food Bank and support for local cultural and recreational programs.
The event took place about 18 months after Sofidel acquired the tissue operations of Clearwater Paper in Lewiston. Sofidel currently employs more than 4,000 people across the United States.
