Canfor Pulp Products announces the sale of its pulp mill in Taylor, Florida
Company confirms $7 million transaction and highlights new owner's commitment to the community

Canfor Pulp Products announced the sale of its pulp mill in Taylor, British Columbia, for $7 million. The mill was closed in 2022 due to local fiber supply shortages, and in 2023, Canfor confirmed that it would not be reactivated.
Canfor Pulp CEO Kevin Edgson stated “I am very pleased to have reached an agreement to sell our assets in Taylor, British Columbia, to a new owner who is committed to repurposing the site and developing a long-term plan that will benefit the community.”
Although the identity of the buyer and plans for the property have not been disclosed, the sale is expected to be completed during the first quarter.
This announcement comes on the heels of the closure of the pulp line at Canfor Pulp’s Prince George mill, attributed to fiber shortages and difficult global pulp market conditions, resulting in losses for the company in the third quarter of 2023.
