Georgia-Pacific receives Energy Star 2023 award for energy efficiency
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency recognition underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability
Georgia-Pacific announced that two of its mills have been awarded the 2023 Energy Star® award by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This recognition highlights the company’s commitment to energy efficiency and its outstanding performance in this area.
Award-winning mills include the Leaf River cellulose mill, located in New August, Mississippi, and the pulp and paper mill in Brewton, Alabama. Both facilities have earned Energy Star® certification for three consecutive years, highlighting their exceptional energy efficiency.
The Energy Star® award is a prestigious recognition given to facilities that excel in energy efficiency and environmental performance. EPA’s Energy Star® program identifies and rewards organizations and facilities that demonstrate a significant commitment to conserving resources and reducing energy consumption.
