Georgia-Pacific strengthens contractor safety culture through ISN assessment tool
Company uses CultureSight to identify perception gaps and improve safety practices within its packaging division
Georgia-Pacific announced the implementation of CultureSight, a safety culture assessment tool developed by ISN, to strengthen contractor safety perception within its packaging division.
The initiative is part of the company’s strategy to improve safety management and reinforce alignment between contractors and industrial operations. According to the company, the assessment helped establish a cultural maturity baseline and gather feedback from contractors, particularly frontline workers.
Survey results identified strengths related to commitment, priorities and risk awareness, while also highlighting opportunities for improvement in communication and safety reporting follow-up processes.
Dana Scarberry, Safety and Health Manager for the packaging division at Georgia-Pacific, said the tool enabled the company to proactively assess safety perception across operations and identify areas requiring additional attention to mitigate risk.
Based on the findings, the company said it will continue strengthening communication processes, resource support and reporting systems. It also plans to expand the program to additional business units to further align contractor safety initiatives with its Principle-Based Management™ culture.
In addition, Georgia-Pacific is evaluating additional ISNetworld capabilities, including scanning systems, check-in/check-out registration and quick surveys to improve on-site visibility and contractor feedback channels.
Mike Reazin, Vice President of Manufacturing at ISN, said leveraging insights from CultureSight will help strengthen alignment between leadership expectations and operational execution.
