JD Irving sets hiring record in its pulp and paper division

Company reaches milestone with 80 new hires and the inclusion of 100 students, reaffirming its commitment to growth and sustainable development

JD Irving has achieved an outstanding accomplishment in 2023, recording a record with the hiring of 80 new full-time employees and the addition of 100 students in various operational areas in Saint John and St. George, New Brunswick.

Hires were made in skilled trades, engineers and business professionals, being the result of retirements, business growth and regular workforce turnover. Mark Mosher, vice president of the Pulp and Paper Division, said, “We are committed to investing in our people and developing a diverse portfolio of talent for generations to come.”

The majority of the new employees are recent graduates from post-secondary institutions in Atlantic Canada, underscoring the division’s successful co-op program that facilitates the transition of local talent from student roles to full-time employment.

This achievement highlights JDI’s ongoing commitment to local development and generating opportunities for emerging talent in the region.
