LOLA partners with USC Athletics to expand access to menstrual hygiene products in sports venues

Collaboration includes the installation of dispensers with organic sanitary pads in university sports facilities, reinforcing equity in sports

LOLA, a menstrual hygiene brand focused on natural ingredients, has announced a partnership with USC Athletics, becoming the official provider of menstrual care products for the university sports organization. The initiative includes the installation of dispensers with feminine hygiene products in restrooms across selected athletic facilities at the University of Southern California (USC), serving athletes, teams, staff, and event attendees.

The collaboration strengthens the brand’s presence in women’s sports and expands access to menstrual hygiene products in environments where availability has historically been limited. LOLA already maintains similar initiatives in professional leagues, including partnerships with WNBA teams such as the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx, where products are provided free of charge to athletes and fans.

According to data cited by the company, access to menstrual hygiene products remains a challenge for part of the student population in the United States. It is estimated that one in four teenagers has missed school due to lack of access to these products, while 23% of students report difficulties in obtaining them. Period poverty disproportionately affects young people from lower-income communities.

“At LOLA, we believe access to hygienic menstrual care is essential to confidence and performance,” said Kelly Murphy, general manager of LOLA. “Partnering with USC Athletics allows us to bring menstrual care into spaces where it has historically been overlooked, while supporting athletes and fans with products they can trust.”

As part of the initiative, LOLA will also host a community activation on February 19 during the women’s basketball game between USC and Wisconsin. The event will be organized in partnership with Happy Period, an organization dedicated to menstrual health education and promoting equity in access to disposable personal care products.

The program will include a conversation on menstrual equity led by Chelsea VonChaz, founder of Happy Period and a femtech specialist.

“The leadership and dedication of LOLA opened the door for Happy Period to partner with USC Athletics in a way that prioritizes care, dignity, and impact,” said Chelsea VonChaz. “Their efforts ensured this collaboration is not just symbolic, but truly meaningful for the communities we serve. This is a powerful example of what happens when influence is used with intention.”

The rollout of menstrual hygiene product dispensers will take place throughout the year across multiple USC athletic facilities. The initiative reflects a growing movement connecting personal care brands, women’s sports, and social impact actions focused on menstrual equity.
