Metsä Tissue launches production on new PM37 machine at Future Mill in Mariestad

The Finnish company advances toward more sustainable and efficient production with a new annual capacity of 70,000 tons of tissue paper

Metsä Tissue, part of the Metsä Group, has completed the production of the first base paper roll on its new PM37 machine at the Future Mill in Mariestad, Sweden. This milestone marks a new phase for the plant, which will enhance the supply of products under the Lambi, Serla, and Katrin brands, produced locally and sustainably.

The PM37 features an annual capacity of 70,000 tons of tissue paper and can reach a maximum speed of 2,100 meters per minute. It is designed to maximize performance, reduce water and energy consumption, and move toward fossil-free production, aligning with the company’s sustainability goals.

This achievement reflects Metsä Tissue’s strategy to increase virgin fiber tissue production in Scandinavia, strengthening its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency while ensuring high-quality products for customers.
