Sofidel Achieves A- Ratings for Climate Change and Forests in CDP 2025 Assessment
The international organization CDP recognized Sofidel Group for its environmental performance and responsible forest resource management
Sofidel Group, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tissue and hygiene paper products, has once again been recognized by CDP, a global reference organization for environmental performance measurement and disclosure, for its sustainability commitment.
In the 2025 assessment, Sofidel received an A- rating for Climate Change and an A- rating for Forests, reflecting the company’s efforts to reduce environmental impact and promote responsible sourcing of forest-based raw materials.
In the forestry category, CDP introduced a new product-based evaluation (Commodity Scores) for the first time. Within this framework, Sofidel achieved an A rating for Timber, the highest possible score, confirming the strength of its sustainable sourcing strategy for pulp, a key raw material in tissue production.
The company is committed to long-term decarbonization through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aiming to achieve Net Zero emissions by 2050. Regarding forest management, 100% of Sofidel’s forest-based raw materials are sourced from suppliers certified under internationally recognized standards, including FSC®, FSC® Controlled Wood and PEFC, verified by independent third-party certification systems.
Sofidel is also among the early adopters of Forests Forward, a global multi-stakeholder initiative led by WWF to combat deforestation, preserve forest ecosystems and protect the rights of local communities.
In 2025, CDP assessed more than 22,100 companies worldwide, placing Sofidel among the top performers in climate and forest-related criteria.
