Sofidel is a finalist in the Sustainability Awards 2023
Recognition of achievements in sustainability, including plastic reduction and projects in the Amazon region
Business Intelligence Group has named Sofidel as a finalist in the Sustainability Awards 2023. These awards recognize outstanding achievements in incorporating sustainability as an integral part of the business.

In 2022, Sofidel demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainability. 85% of its products boasted the eco-label and an impressive 38.2% reduction in plastic presence was achieved compared to 2013 levels. In addition, the company’s carbon intensity experienced a remarkable 15.7% decrease compared to 2018 data. Sofidel also reaffirmed its commitment to using 100% certified pulp, with 84.39% of this certification being attributable to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
In addition to these achievements, Sofidel has undertaken a significant project in collaboration with Suzano entitled “Together we plant the future – Developing biodiversity corridors towards a more sustainable future”. This three-year pilot project seeks to establish a biodiversity corridor in the Amazon region of Brazil, fostering both conservation and ecological restoration, while supporting the socioeconomic progress of the region.
