P&G celebrates 30 years of LGBTQ+ inclusion with employee resource group and community initiatives

Consumer goods giant highlighted commitment to diversity and equality throughout Pride Month

Consumer goods giant Procter & Gamble (P&G) commemorated Pride Month by highlighting its commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion. The company emphasized its belief that a diverse workforce and inclusive environment lead to better work and stronger consumer connections.

This year marked the 30th anniversary of GABLE, P&G’s LGBTQ+ global employee resource group, which boasts over 5,000 members across 50 countries. Since its founding in 1994, GABLE has championed LGBTQ+ employee inclusion and fostered trust with consumers.

P&G highlighted its 10th consecutive perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, a recognition of its LGBTQ+ employee policies and practices. The company stated this allows employees to be their authentic selves, attracting and retaining top talent while enabling success with a diverse consumer base.

P&G also detailed its global partnerships to advance LGBTQ+ equality and economic growth. The company mentioned its “Can’t Cancel Pride” initiative, a yearly benefit recognizing LGBTQ+ changemakers and supporting six organizations with over $17 million raised in five years. The 2024 event will stream on various platforms starting June 12th at 8:00 p.m. ET.

“We’ve made significant strides for LGBTQ+ consumers and employees, impacting individuals and communities”, said Brent Miller, senior director of Global LGBTQ+ Engagement at P&G. “I’m proud of our continued support through brands, partners, and programs like Can’t Cancel Pride. Celebrating Pride reignites our commitment to LGBTQ+ equality, striving for a company and world where inclusion is achievable for all”.
