Sofidel stands out at the M&A Award 2025 for the acquisition of Clearwater Paper’s tissue division

Sofidel was recognized at the M&A Award 2025, ranking among the top three in the “Italy on Foreign” category for the acquisition of Clearwater Paper Corporation’s tissue division, completed in November 2024. The award is organized by KPMG Italy and Fineurop Soditic, in collaboration with Class CNBC Publishers and Borsa Italiana, with the goal of highlighting the best mergers and acquisitions carried out by Italian companies.

The company was represented at the ceremony by CEO Luigi Lazzareschi, reinforcing its position as one of the leading global players in the tissue industry.

The event, now in its 21st edition, highlighted that despite geopolitical tensions, trade wars, and market instability, the M&A sector remains strong. In 2024, the Italian market reached a new record with over 1,440 deals, totaling €77 billion, surpassing the €38 billion recorded in 2023.

This recognition highlights Sofidel’s strategic move to strengthen its presence in the North American market and enhance its global competitiveness in the tissue sector.
