American Paper Converting expanding operations in Henrico, Virginia
The new space will feature upgraded machinery and equipment, as well as new technology – including robotics automation and will add 69 new jobs to the area

American Paper Converting (APC), a bathroom tissue, facial tissue, and paper towel product manufacturer, is strengthening its national presence. As part of its $17 million East Coast expansion, the Woodland, Washington-based company is growing its current footprint in Henrico, Virginia, to a larger facility.
The new space will feature upgraded machinery and equipment, as well as new technology – including robotics automation. The plant will add 69 new jobs to the area.
“Back in 2011, we fell in love with Henrico for its superior logistics, diversified business community, and dynamic labor force,” said Lydia Work, owner and founder of APC. “In 10 years, that love has only deepened. As we transition to a larger facility to answer the rising demand of our vast client base in healthcare, education, business, manufacturing, recreation, government, and the public sector, we are thrilled that Henrico already had everything in place to support our accelerated growth.”
“We are pleased that American Paper Converting has chosen to build a new production facility in Henrico’s Tech Park Place,” stated Tyrone Nelson, Supervisor of Henrico’s Varina District, “and congratulate the company on this important expansion. Whether supplying paper products for a large sporting venue or commercial office space, American Paper Converting plays an important role in maintaining healthy environments for people in Henrico and beyond.”
APC will move its current operation at 4401 Carolina Ave. to 5801 Tech Park Way near Henrico’s White Oak Technology Park, a strategic location that allows for overnight access to 55% of the U.S. population and major international ports. The larger 120,000-square-foot facility will help the manufacturer amplify production of its product lines, including sustainable solutions like high-capacity roll towels, coreless tissues, and its Eco Green brand, which is made from 100% recycled paper
