Clearwater Paper resumes operations after suspension caused by Hurricane Helene
Facilities in Georgia and North Carolina were temporarily halted, but have resumed operations without major damage

Clearwater Paper Corporation, a leading supplier of bleached paperboard and high-quality tissue paper, has temporarily suspended operations at its paperboard facility in Augusta, Georgia, and its tissue facility in Shelby, North Carolina, in the United States, due to the impact of Hurricane Helene. Despite the interruption, the plants did not suffer significant damage and are resuming their activities.
“As we deal with the aftermath of this powerful storm, our top priorities remain the safety of our people and ramping up our operations to service our customers”, said Arsen Kitch, the company’s president and CEO. “We are deeply grateful to our Augusta and Shelby teams for their tremendous efforts to safely resume production and minimize the impact on our business while personally dealing with the effects of the storm”, he concluded.
