First Quality and community volunteers transform Hoberman Park in Lock Haven
Nearly 100 volunteers came together to revitalize the city’s largest recreational area, enhancing safety and accessibility for local children
First Quality recently concluded a summer initiative aimed at enhancing the local neighborhood by revitalizing Hoberman Park in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. This park, the largest recreational area in a low-income neighborhood, was identified by the City of Lock Haven as needing significant refurbishment due to its deteriorating conditions and community feedback.
On the day of the revitalization project, nearly 100 volunteers, including First Quality employees and their families, collaborated to restore the park. Tasks completed during the event included building new playground equipment, constructing benches, and creating a stage, picnic tables, and garden beds. Meanwhile, children contributed by painting a mural and crafting a custom paper-link chain for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The revitalization of Hoberman Park is seen as a vital improvement for the local community, particularly for its children. The project underscores the importance of safe and accessible play spaces for children’s development and wellbeing.
First Quality’s engagement in this initiative reflects the company’s broader commitment to corporate social responsibility and giving back to the community. The efforts of the First Quality team and local volunteers aim to foster a welcoming environment for families in Lock Haven, aligning with the company’s mission to “make things better” in the communities it serves.
