K-C Professional committed to reduce environmental footprint

One of their UK facilities has found innovative ways to ensure 100% of their manufacturing waste is diverted away from landfill

A division of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Kimberly-Clark Professional is focused on providing B2B solutions and strive to improve the sustainability of their products and have a positive global impact.

According to the company, their manufacturing facilities play a critical role in helping achieve their 2030 goal to reduce their environmental footprint by half.

Then, their Coleshill facility, in the UK, has found innovative ways to ensure 100% of their manufacturing waste is diverted away from landfill.

Where possible, the fiber is mechanically screened and washed, with the fiber then passed back into the manufacturing process to produce tissue products. And where they can’t make tissue, the fiber is turned into bedding for cows.

“Not only has the facility made great strides in waste management, but it’s greenhouse gas emissions too. Over the past 5 years, we’ve installed equipment to enable more efficient use of energy which has resulted in 19% reduction in greenhouse gases. In the future, we’re committed to drive even further improvements,” K-C Professional commented in a LinkedIn post.
