Kruger Products announces plans to build new tissue plant in the United States

New state-of-the-art TAD facility will expand ultra-premium tissue capacity and strengthen Kruger Products’ North American manufacturing network

Kruger Products announced in its Third Quarter 2025 Financial Results release that it plans to build a new state-of-the-art tissue facility in the western United States. The decision follows more than US$1 billion invested in Canada since 2018 to expand tissue capacity and support the company’s accelerated business growth. The project includes a modern through-air-dry (TAD) machine and related converting lines, reinforcing the company’s ability to supply ultra-premium tissue products to the fast-growing North American market.

According to the company, the site selection process is in its final stages, with the official location—along with full project scope and financing details—to be announced at a later date. The new TAD machine will have an annual production capacity of approximately 75,000 metric tons, with startup expected in 2028.

This investment will be made through an unrestricted subsidiary of Kruger Products and remains subject to securing financing on satisfactory terms. The current structure anticipates 40% equity and incentives, with the remaining 60% financed through project-specific debt.

With the addition of this new U.S. facility, along with the company’s Memphis plant and nine existing Canadian operations, Kruger Products says it will further strengthen its manufacturing network to meet the growing demand of the North American tissue market.
