Eldorado Brasil strengthens its ESG agenda with the publication of its Sustainability Report and Forest Management Plan
Company highlights progress in governance, environmental conservation, innovation and forest management, reinforcing sustainability as a key pillar of its long-term business strategy
Eldorado Brasil Celulose has released the latest editions of its Sustainability Report and Forest Management Plan, two publications that reinforce ESG as a fundamental component of the company’s long-term business strategy.
The reports highlight progress in areas such as governance, traceability, circular economy, environmental conservation, social responsibility, people development and innovation. They also present new data from the first year of operations at the Forest Technology Center (ELDTECH), showcasing initiatives focused on biodiversity, climate adaptation and the use of technology to make operations increasingly efficient and resilient.
The latest forest management results demonstrate the balance between production and conservation across a total area of 456,000 hectares, including more than 309,000 hectares of productive forests and 106,000 hectares dedicated exclusively to environmental conservation, all located in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The implementation of the company’s forest management project earned Eldorado the FSC® Ecosystem Services Procedure Verification, an international recognition validating the positive impacts of its operations on biodiversity, carbon sequestration and water resources.
Today, Eldorado’s forestry operations generate more than 3,000 direct jobs, demonstrating the company’s social impact through programs that promote regional development, sustainable agriculture and income generation for local communities, while encouraging biodiversity awareness.
Research and technology are also central to Eldorado’s forestry strategy. ELDTECH, located in Andradina, São Paulo, serves as the company’s main innovation hub, with laboratories dedicated to tree breeding, wood quality, biological pest control, biotechnology and forest protection.
Eldorado also stands out for its pioneering use of artificial neural networks in forest inventories and timber measurement, improving operational efficiency and data reliability.
Continuous monitoring demonstrates the effectiveness of this model, with endangered species frequently recorded within the company’s managed forest areas, confirming their role as ecological corridors that support biodiversity conservation.
COMMITMENT TO THE ESG AGENDA
Innovation through biotechnology and genetic improvement to increase forest productivity and enhance the sustainability potential of its forestry base is part of Eldorado’s broader ESG and governance strategy.
The company’s latest Sustainability Report, covering its 2025 performance, outlines commitments including the Zero Landfill initiative, which will be supported by the inauguration of a new Waste Management Center in 2026. The facility will transform industrial waste into agricultural inputs, advancing the company’s circular economy strategy.
The report also presents a Climate Risk Matrix connecting environmental impacts with financial valuation, including scenario analyses extending to 2030 and 2050.
During COP30 in Brazil, Eldorado received the Diamond Sustainability Seal in recognition of its sustainability initiatives. The company also strengthened its corporate integrity commitment by joining the Brazilian Business Integrity Pact, led by the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU), as well as the Sustainability Pact.
Eldorado continues to invest in people development, leadership training and talent retention, recognizing that a healthy organizational environment is essential for long-term success. The company was recognized as Brazil’s Best Human Resources Department in the forest-based industry.
“2025 represents another important step in how we integrate efficiency, competitiveness, sustainability and people management. We remain committed to transforming strategy into execution with discipline and a long-term vision,” said Elcio Trajano Jr., Human Resources, Sustainability and Communications Director at Eldorado Brasil.
Eldorado records greenhouse gas emissions intensity of only 0.17 tCO₂e per air-dried tonne (ADT) of pulp, one of the lowest levels in the industry.
A pioneering Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) conducted in partnership with North Carolina State University demonstrated that Eldorado’s pulp has a global warming potential 30.67% lower than the industry average, highlighting the environmental advantages of the product throughout its value chain.
Eldorado ended 2025 strengthening its position as one of the most structured companies in the forest-based sector. Through strategies focused on operational excellence, measurable environmental performance and governance aligned with international standards, the company continues to reinforce its commitment to sustainability, responsibility and long-term value creation.
The company produces 1.8 million tonnes of pulp annually and exports to more than 40 countries across all continents. Eldorado also maintains offices in the United States, Austria and China.
