NCASI Enhances Its Role as a Comprehensive Technical Resource on Environmental and Sustainability Topics for the Tissue Sector
With more than 80 years of experience, the organization supports tissue manufacturers with science-based research, environmental expertise, and sustainability-focused technical resources
For more than eight decades, the National Council for Air and Stream Improvement, Inc. (NCASI) has supported the forest products industry as a leading research and technical organization, delivering science-based solutions that enhance operational efficiency, environmental performance, and sustainability outcomes. As a non-profit research association, NCASI provides its Member Companies across North America and other regions with specialized expertise in environmental and sustainability research, along with contextual technical support related to operational, regulatory, marketplace, and stakeholder-driven topics.
NCASI brings together scientists, engineers, and technical specialists with expertise spanning forest ecology, forest carbon, manufacturing processes, chemicals characterization, modeling, and risk assessment. Its technical programs address key challenges related to air, water, forestry, sustainability, and chemical management across forest products manufacturing and converting operations.
This breadth and depth of technical expertise, combined with scientific credibility, has established NCASI as a trusted technical resource for Members, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
Within the tissue segment, NCASI provides expertise and information on several critical topics, including permitting support, water and energy use benchmarking and minimization, in-line measurement and modeling, sustainability metrics and reporting, life cycle approaches, and tools for greenhouse gas and carbon footprint calculations.
These resources are critical as tissue manufacturers navigate evolving regulatory, stakeholder, and marketplace requirements.
NCASI continues to expand and strengthen its technical offerings, equipping its Members with advanced scientific insights and strategic guidance to help address complex environmental and sustainability challenges.
