Sofidel begins expansion of U.S. plant with ceremony in Duluth, Minnesota
Project includes modernization of the facility acquired in January 2024 and construction of an automated warehouse for storage and distribution

Last week, Sofidel held a ceremony to mark the start of expansion works at its plant in Duluth, Minnesota, United States. The event was attended by the company’s CEO, Luigi Lazzareschi, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and Duluth Mayor Roger J. Reinert.
The expansion of the site, acquired in January 2024, will transform the current paper mill into an integrated, state-of-the-art facility. As part of the project, the company will also build an automated warehouse dedicated to product storage and distribution.
In a social media post, Sofidel expressed its appreciation for the support received: “We extend our gratitude to our public and private partners for their invaluable support in this new chapter of our growth in the United States.”
