The Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has approved a financing package of R$ 451.7 million for Suzano S.A., one of the world’s largest pulp producers, to modernize, revitalize infrastructure and expand storage capacity at its units in Aracruz (ES), Limeira (SP), Mogi das Cruzes (SP), Mucuri (BA) and Três Lagoas (MS).

The financing —part of a total investment of R$ 700 million— includes resources from the Finem program (R$ 342.8 million) and the Climate Fund (R$ 108.9 million). The projects are expected to generate 670 direct jobs during implementation and 286 indirect jobs.

The initiatives integrate innovation, technology and environmental responsibility to support a regenerative and sustainable production model.

The projects include expanding waste storage capacity in Aracruz, eliminating natural gas consumption in Limeira through process optimization, improving road access and safety in Mogi das Cruzes, installing sand separation technology and revitalizing diffusers in Mucuri, and replacing key chip pumps in Três Lagoas.

BNDES President Aloizio Mercadante emphasized the Bank’s role in supporting industrial modernization in Brazil, while Suzano’s Vice President Marcos Assumpção highlighted the importance of the partnership for reducing emissions and enhancing operational efficiency.
