The construction works of Suzano’s new mega pulp mill in Brazil continue to advance with important achievements recorded until June.
Among the completed and delivered stages, the staking and foundations of two important components for future industrial operations stand out: the pulp dryers, and the recovery and power boiler which will serve to generate the steam necessary for production of energy from biomass.
The rainwater lagoon 1 was also completed, one of the reservoirs that will receive rainwater and drainage from industrial activities for later reuse.
Another important milestone celebrated by the company is the 5 million hours worked without lost-time accidents, in addition to the progress of actions in forestry operations and social programs.

ABOUT THE CERRADO PROJECT
Announced in May 2021 and confirmed by Suzano’s Board of Directors in early November of the same year, the Cerrado Project will be the company’s most competitive unit, with production of 2.55 million tons of eucalyptus pulp per year.
Scheduled to start operating in the second half of 2024 and, during the peak of the works, it should generate around 10,000 direct jobs. When in operation, it will employ 3,000 people, including its own employees and third parties, in the forestry and industrial areas, moving the entire economic chain in the region.
