Suzano delays startup of its new pulp mill in Brazil

The world's largest single-line pulp mill faced postponement in operations, according to Suzano's latest update to the Securities and Exchange Commission

Suzano has announced a delay in the commencement of operations for its new pulp mill, the Cerrado Project, located in Ribas do Rio Pardo, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. This update was communicated in a material fact submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM).

Initially scheduled to begin by the end of June, the startup of the new unit is now set to occur in July. Suzano explained that the Cerrado Project is currently in its final commissioning phase, and the company is committed to ensuring the proper execution of the startup and the successful performance of its learning curve.

The new mill represents a significant investment of R$ 22.2 billion and will have a production capacity of 2.55 million tons of eucalyptus pulp annually, positioning it as the largest single-line pulp mill in the world.
