Pampers introduces the world’s smallest diaper for premature babies

The company launches the Swaddlers Pxxs model, developed with medical experts for the most delicate neonatal care

Pampers announced, as part of World Prematurity Day on November 17, the launch of the Swaddlers Preemie extra extra small (Pxxs), considered the smallest diaper in the world. It is the fourth and tiniest model in the Pampers Preemie Collection, developed in collaboration with medical authorities, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) professionals, and nursing, scientific and design teams from Procter & Gamble.

The company emphasized that this launch reinforces its long-standing commitment to neonatal care. Premature birth remains a major health challenge affecting more than 360,000 babies in the United States each year, which is why Pampers has spent decades working closely with hospitals and specialists. The brand was the first to partner with NICUs and to design diapers specifically for premature babies, becoming one of the most trusted choices among healthcare professionals for over 50 years.

Pampers also highlighted that the Pxxs diapers are not just a smaller version of its regular products but are handcrafted to meet the unique needs of babies weighing less than 500 grams. Their features include premium soft materials to help prevent irritation, a thin and flexible structure that supports proper newborn positioning, and reusable double-fastening tabs that make it possible to change the baby in any position without disturbing their rest.

The company also recalled its more than 25-year partnership with March of Dimes to improve maternal and infant health globally. In this context, and as part of Prematurity Awareness Month, Pampers made a donation to the NICU Family Support® program, which provides essential education and guidance to more than 50,000 families each year during their newborns’ NICU stay.

Finally, Pampers invited the public to learn more about the Pxxs model on its website and on its YouTube channel, where it shares testimonials from parents, NICU professionals and experts from its R&D department.
