Suzano launches 2021 Annual Report and presents Sustainability Center

The document brings together the main highlights of the year and its Strategic Summary, while the new Central now includes information related to management and strategy

This week, Suzano launched the 2021 Annual Report, a document that brings together the main highlights of the year and its Strategic Summary. Simultaneously, the company presents its new Sustainability Center, a reformulation of the Indicators Center, which now includes information related to management and strategy, in addition to updated indicators on the main operational and socio-environmental aspects.

The 2021 Annual Report aims to present, in a transparent and balanced way, a summary of the past year and the context in which Suzano is inserted. It explains how Suzano puts into practice its Organizational Purpose of “Renewing life from the tree” daily, and how innovativeness – innovation at the service of sustainability – is present in projects of different scales and maturities, and in the different company areas.

In addition, it highlights major milestones for the year, such as the evolution of the pulp company in issuing bonds linked to socio-environmental commitments, the expansion of the list of “Commitments to Renew Life”, the company’s long-term goals, the launch of the Cerrado Project, the announcement of the creation of a joint venture with the Finnish Spinnova, among countless other initiatives and challenges, in a year still marked by adversities related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In the Sustainability Center it is possible to access data related to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard and other frameworks, such as the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Sustainable Development Goals (ODS) and Metrics from Stakeholder Capitalism, World Economic Forum (WEF) etc.

Thus, the Central is configured as the main hub for Suzano’s sustainability and ESG content. In total, there are more than 450 indicators with data on water consumption, forest management, social development, emissions, value chain and long-term goals, among others.
