Companies continue to present their solutions at the Tissue Summit Brazil
The second talks period featured several presentations
After the morning program and the brunch break, Tissue Summit Brasil 2024 resumed its schedule of lectures with Lari Lampila, Sales & After Sales Manager of Runtech, who gave a presentation entitled “Rethinking the vacuum system for tissue machines”.
He provided relevant insights on how to create an efficient vacuum system for tissue machines, citing how solutions from Runtech, a global supplier of custom-engineered systems for the pulp and paper industries, can help achieve this goal. Lari also emphasized how a larger vacuum system can be synonymous with higher costs, although it does not guarantee higher productivity; therefore, all equipment used must be tailored to the customer’s needs, a case-by-case strategy.
After the Finnish company’s presentation, it was the turn of Color Química, which spoke about Kapp-Chemie’s German technology for the Brazilian tissue industry. Under the theme “Kappasil products: get to know the best line of converter adhesives for tissue paper”, Mateus Santanna, VP Paper & Tissue of Color Química, presented the company’s differentials.
During the event, Mateus presented an institutional video about Color Química, detailing its history, as well as its entry into the tissue adhesives market, which began five years ago in partnership with Kapp-Chemie Tissue. Mateus also highlighted the importance of using Artificial Intelligence as an enabler and the Big Data tool as a business lever, thanks to data management that ensures greater assertiveness.
Nalco Water, an Ecolab company, brought to the program the topic “New Yankee Vibration Monitoring and Coating Technology,” addressed by Thiago Miranda, Industry Technical Consultant.
Thiago presented Nalco Water’s Yankee Intelligence tool, which provides greater visibility of the machine’s most important asset to deliver greater speed and proactivity. The tool provides advanced monitoring of advanced crepe sheet vibration and cleanliness, enabling better yankee protection.
The executive also discussed Navigator adhesives, which have differentiated film properties, providing a flexible and more durable film that enables better creping for increased paper smoothness and good machine stability.
In view of the strength of the sustainability trend, Marcelo Silveira dos Santos, applications engineer at Hergen, gave a presentation entitled “Opportunities for Sustainability in Tissue Production”.
In his presentation, the applications engineer addressed Hergen’s new concepts, including updated solutions and creative engineering, prioritizing the energy matrix.
He also mentioned the systems that offer opportunities for making tissue paper more sustainably, including loop closure, fiber recovery and water treatment systems, as well as Shoe Press equipment.
Finally, closing the second block of presentations, Luciano Kipper, founder and CEO of Química Nova Brasil, closed the conference with a presentation entitled “Innovation through biotechnologies”.
The executive detailed the company’s investments in innovation, as well as in the development of laboratories, with the aim of offering the market products and services of increasingly higher quality. In his presentation, Kipper also spoke about the application of natural biopolymers – obtained from renewable sources – in the tissue industry and their advantages, including sustainability and the quality of end products.
