Kimberly-Clark Professional drives global sustainability with the launch of ReNew

The new program marks the evolution of RightCycle and strengthens the company’s commitment to circular economy and responsible waste management

Kimberly-Clark Professional has introduced ReNew, the next evolution of its successful RightCycle program, recognized as a leader in recycling solutions for hard-to-recycle hygiene products. With this initiative, the company reinforces its sustainability commitment by offering a comprehensive and simplified approach to circular economy practices.

Officially launched in September 2025, ReNew represents a new phase in Kimberly-Clark Professional’s sustainability strategy. Starting January 1, 2026, all former RightCycle Service clients will transition to the new ReNew™ Program, which expands the scope and capabilities of the previous system.

“With Kimberly-Clark as your partner, you have the power to give new life to your restroom waste and reduce your environmental impact with ease and confidence,” said Kristin Barrett, Circularity Program Manager at Kimberly-Clark Professional. She noted that the initiative provides the same trusted service with greater reach and a stronger focus on circular solutions.

The ReNew Program collects and transforms used hygiene items—such as paper towels, dispensers, and wipers—into new materials and products, supporting clients’ zero-waste goals, CO₂ reduction targets, and ESG commitments. It enables organizations to choose high-performance hygiene products with the assurance of responsible recovery.

In Europe, Kimberly-Clark’s Koblenz plant (Germany) manages most of the processing and is on track to achieve 100% renewable energy by 2029. In other regions, the company partners with local recyclers to ensure efficient and low-emission recovery. In the United Kingdom, the program even accepts competitors’ products, showing that it represents progress for the entire industry rather than brand loyalty.

“With our sustainable solutions, businesses no longer have to choose between hygiene, sustainability, and practicality,” Barrett added. “The ReNew program is practical, scalable, and frees customers from waste management through a complete and simple recycling solution.”

Jointly funded by Kimberly-Clark Professional and its customers, the initiative promotes a shared responsibility model. It includes regular reports on waste reduction and CO₂ emissions, helping companies measure and communicate their environmental progress.

More than 95% of customers have stated they would recommend the program. Since 2011, Kimberly-Clark’s sustainability initiatives have expanded to more than 400 active clients, preventing over 250 metric tons of paper towels and 90 metric tons of plastics from reaching landfills in 2024 alone.

The ReNew Program continues to expand across new markets in Europe and the United Kingdom, with further growth planned for 2026 and beyond. Kimberly-Clark Professional invites organizations committed to sustainable waste management to join this growing global community driving positive environmental impact.
