The Navigator Company achieves second best year ever for sales and commitment to carbon neutrality by 2035

The Navigator Company, one of the leading producers of paper and forest products in Portugal, closed 2023 with the second best sales result in its history. This announcement was made by Rui Pedro Batista, the company’s Communications and Brand Director, in a publication on LinkedIn.

The financial results revealed two consecutive sales records for the company, with an increase of 29% compared to the average of the last five years. EBITDA reached €502 million, raising the EBITDA margin to 26%, compared to an average of 24.3% over the past five years.

In addition to the financial success, the company demonstrated its commitment to employees by distributing €14 million in awards for the 2023 results. Over the past ten years, more than €110 million in rewards have been paid out to employees.

In terms of investments, the company allocated a total of €187 million in 2023, a significant increase compared to the €113 million invested in the previous year. Of this, €106 million was directed to initiatives classified as sustainable (ESG), representing 57% of the total investment.

This disclosure comes in the context of The Navigator Company formally making a commitment to achieve carbon neutrality of its industrial complexes by 2035, an ambitious goal for which it has earmarked a total investment of €158 million.
