The Navigator Company Portugal earns CDP’s highest rating for climate action across its supply chain
The recognition highlights initiatives aimed at engaging suppliers and strategic partners to strengthen emissions management and sustainability goals throughout the value chain
The Navigator Company has been awarded the highest “A” rating in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA) 2025, an international evaluation that measures how companies integrate climate action throughout their supply chains.
The distinction highlights the company’s ability to extend its sustainability commitments beyond its direct operations by engaging suppliers, producers and strategic partners in initiatives focused on emissions reduction and climate risk management.
This achievement adds to the company’s previous “A” Leadership-level ratings in the CDP Climate Change and CDP Forests assessments, reinforcing its performance in decarbonization, sustainable forest management and environmental transparency.
The Supplier Engagement Assessment is an annual evaluation conducted by CDP to assess how organizations incorporate climate-related criteria into their supply chain management practices. Key areas of analysis include supplier engagement, climate risk management, Scope 3 emissions monitoring and the establishment of reduction targets aligned with the transition to a low-carbon economy.
According to CDP, companies receiving the highest rating demonstrate strong capabilities in collaborating with suppliers to identify and mitigate environmental risks while promoting practices that support a more sustainable value chain.
For The Navigator Company, the recognition is particularly significant given the scale of its supply network, which includes nearly 8,000 suppliers. The company reported that approximately 71% of these suppliers are based in Portugal and operate in sectors such as wood and biomass supply, chemicals, energy, logistics and specialized services.
The responsible management of this network forms part of the company’s Responsible Business Agenda 2030, which includes targets aimed at strengthening ESG criteria in supplier evaluation and selection processes, promoting sustainable practices, supporting supplier development and enhancing health and safety standards.
At the same time, the company continues to advance its decarbonization strategy, which includes achieving carbon neutrality across its industrial operations by 2035. As part of this commitment, The Navigator Company expects to reach in 2026 the intermediate emissions reduction targets that were originally scheduled for 2029, supported by investments implemented in recent years.
With this latest recognition, The Navigator Company further strengthens its position in sustainability and climate action while reinforcing the integration of environmental criteria throughout its supply chain and business operations.
